Year Round Pell and 夏天的援助
Beginning in 2017-2018 academic year, the 联邦佩尔 Grant Program allows an eligible student to receive up to 150 percent of the student's 联邦佩尔 Grant scheduled award. This is known as "Year-Round Pell". Year-Round Pell benefits a student that was enrolled full time in the 秋天 and 春天 terms and allows them to receive up to an additional full 联邦佩尔 Grant for the summer. Students may take advantage of this new regulation to earn their degree faster.
Note that the provisions of the new law state that any 联邦佩尔 Grant received will be included in determining the student's 联邦佩尔 Grant duration of eligibility and Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Student must be eligible to receive 联邦佩尔 Grant for the payment period.
- Student must be enrolled in at least half-time
- Student must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Student must have utilized 100% of the 联邦佩尔 Grant prior to receiving additional funds
Things to keep in mind:
- 夏天 terms are shorter (8-10 weeks) - Take a manageable caseload. Failure to complete courses and/or failure of courses can affect a student's eligibility (SAP)
- Only take courses that are required toward program of study
- 夏天 联邦佩尔 counts toward a student's Lifetime Eligibility Used
- Award amount cannot exceed the maximum award for one payment period

Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU) is the amount of 联邦佩尔 Grant funds a student can receive over their lifetime. LEU is limited by federal law to the equivalent of six years and/or 600%. 例如, if a student is disbursed for full time enrollment status for the 秋天 and 春天 terms their LEU equals 100% for the Academic Year. Another example is, if a student is disbursed three-quarter time enrollment status for the 秋天 (37.5% LEU) and full-time enrollment status for the 春天 (50% LEU) their LEU equals 87.5% for the Academic Year. A student may check their LEU percentage by logging into Federal Student Aid Website 使用他们的FSA ID.

夏天的援助
Students who are not enrolled full-time for the 秋天 and 春天 term can still utilize their unused 联邦佩尔 Grant. 夏季学期, unused aid from 秋天 and 春天 differs from the additional Year-Round Pell that was allotted by the Department of Education. 请记住, the North Carolina Community College and North Carolina Education Lottery Scholarship is not available for the summer term.
